The Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui is the place to be, featuring a temporary food lane with an array of refreshing beverages and new photo opportunities with beloved LINE FRIENDS characters. On June 10 and 15, the skies above the Wan Chai harbourfront will come alive with a festive drone show and fireworks, building excitement throughout the city ahead of the “Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races” at the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade on June 15 and 16.

”Summer Chill Food Lane” (June 8 to 16)

Quench your summer thirst with icy drinks, soothing desserts, and cool breezes. From June 8, the “Summer Chill Food Lane” and “LINE FRIENDS Hong Kong Summer Chill” will bring a variety of summer experiences to the Avenue of Stars. Don’t miss the temporary LINE FRIENDS pop-up store, featuring exclusive Dragon Boat Festival merchandise created in collaboration with local brands.

Dragon Boat-Themed Drone Show (June 10)

Experience the excitement at the Wan Chai harbourfront, mirroring the vibrant scene in Tsim Sha Tsui. At 8 pm on June 10, enjoy a visual feast with cartoon rice dumplings and dragon boats in a Dragon Boat Festival-themed drone show.

Pyrotechnic Display (15 June)

On the evening of June 15th, the Wan Chai harbourfront will light up with a pyrotechnic display to mark the opening of the “Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races.” The fireworks, featuring smiley faces and the signature “HK” monogram, will begin at 8 pm, creating a festive atmosphere for both locals and tourists. Additionally, a free ice-cream giveaway will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm on the evenings of both the drone show and the pyrotechnic display. Ice-creams will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

“Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races” (15 & 16 June)

Organized by the HKTB and the Hong Kong, China Dragon Boat Association (HKCDBA), the “Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races” will be held on June 15th and 16th along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. This year, over 170 teams from 12 countries and regions will compete in 17 races, with participants including elite teams from Hong Kong, Macao, Mainland China, Singapore, Japan, the UAE, Thailand, and others. This event surpasses last year’s participation in both the number of teams and countries represented. Highlights of this year’s races include the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China with a special trophy, the Greater Bay Area Championship, the 18 Districts Trophy, and the entertaining “Fancy Dress Competition.” The semi-finals, finals, and award ceremonies will be broadcast live on RTHK TV 32.
