Hong Kong’s bustling transportation system is getting a significant boost with the recent expansion of MTR services. The MTR Corporation, responsible for the city’s extensive subway network, has introduced 112 additional weekly train trips across three major rail lines: the East Rail, Tseung Kwan O, and Tuen Ma Lines. The interval for trains to Lo Wu station has been reduced to 8.6 minutes, with trains running every 5 to 5.6 minutes during peak hours. Within the city, the Tseung Kwan O Line has also experienced a service increase. Known as Light Rail Route 720, this service is tailored for morning commuters, including students, residents, and workers traveling between Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai. Departing at 7:46 am, the route passes through several key stops, including Siu Hong, Lam Tei, and Hung Shui Kiu, before reaching Tin Wing stop. While only operational on weekdays, this route provides an efficient option for early morning travel in Hong Kong’s New Territories, offering access to areas less frequented by tourists but rich in local culture and attractions.
