OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — A popular Oakland barbecue spot will be reopening at a new location after announcing the closure of its previous location last month.
The acclaimed restaurant Horn Barbecue announced in March that it would be closing its Mandela Parkway location for good after suffering a burglary and a devastating fire. However, the restaurant has since decided to reopen at a new location on 464 8th Street, which is where Matty’s, another restaurant owned by Matt Horn, is currently located.
In a Facebook post, Horn Barbecue announced that it will be reopening on Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m. The restaurant will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and will feature dishes from Matty’s incorporated into its menu.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your unwavering support-your love has been our strength during this time. We can’t wait to welcome you back,” the restaurant said in its Facebook post.
Horn Barbecue is known for its delicious barbecue dishes, and its reopening is much-anticipated by Oakland residents. The new location on 8th Street is conveniently located and will offer the same high-quality food and service that Horn Barbecue is known for.
