Footage released by the mother of five shows dark brown liquid constantly spilling out of the toilet at an alarming speed. The sludge then rushes out of the bathroom and into the hallway, where it continues to cascade through the house in London. Towels can be seen lining the floor but appear powerless to absorb the sewage.
The mother made the gruesome discovery in her home on March 17th, and the toilet has overflowed twice since then, causing extensive damage to the property. Plumbers have been called to clear the blockages, but the family has been unable to live in their home since the incident occurred.
The mother said she was told the root cause of the blockages appeared to be people flushing non-flushable wet wipes down their toilets. She added that the local council has sent letters to people to warn them about the dangers of flushing wet wipes, but many have ignored the warnings.
