Hospitality Veteran Phillip Pavel Takes the Helm at The Georgian in Santa Monica

The Georgian, the iconic 84-key hotel in Santa Monica, has welcomed Phillip Pavel as its new Managing Director. Pavel, a seasoned hospitality veteran with over 25 years of experience in luxury accommodations, brings a wealth of expertise to the Ocean Avenue landmark. Following its restoration and reopening in April 2023 by BLVD Hospitality, The Georgian is poised for continued success under Pavel’s leadership.

Pavel’s career boasts an impressive resume, including over two decades as Managing Director at the legendary Chateau Marmont. His tenure there solidified the hotel’s status as a Hollywood institution, earning him recognition as “one of the most famous gatekeepers in Hollywood.” After his time at Chateau Marmont, Pavel served as Managing Director at The NoMad Hotel in Los Angeles for three years before leading Membership and Communications on the West Coast for Soho House. His experience extends beyond hotels, having also held Managing Director roles at InHouse and private luxury estates across California, Colorado, and Mexico.

Beyond his impressive hospitality background, Pavel is deeply connected to the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. He boasts over 40 acting credits in film and television, showcasing his multifaceted talents. His dedication to the arts extends further, as he served as a board member for the non-profit arts organization Center Theatre Group.

“As serendipity would have it, there are few people in the world who understand the intersection of culture and luxury hospitality better than Philip Pavel,” says Nicolo Rusconi, Co-Founder of BLVD Hospitality. “His industry experience merged with his deep understanding of the fabric of Los Angeles and Hollywood make him a perfect fit for The Georgian.”

Jon Blanchard, Owner of The Georgian and CEO of BLVD Hospitality, shares the excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome Philip to our team and are confident that his proven track record of leadership and excellence will find its home at The First Lady of Santa Monica, as we continue to build on our legacy of culture and sophistication.”

With Pavel’s expertise and passion, The Georgian is set to continue its journey as a cultural hub in Santa Monica, attracting both locals and visitors alike.
