After an eight-month hiatus dedicated to creative development, the ADLON POOL at Hotel Kempinski Berlin has finally reopened its doors. The result is a stunning transformation, showcasing one of the most cutting-edge wellness retreats in the luxury hotel world.
The spa has been redesigned to create a tranquil, light-filled environment that blends warm materials like limed oak wood with reflective elements, glittering plaster finishes, and carefully selected lounge furnishings. Shimmering fabrics adorn the walls, further enhancing the serene and calming atmosphere for guests.
The centerpiece of this newly redesigned space is the black marbled swimming pool. Elegant tiles and advanced lighting, designed in collaboration with Berlin’s renowned lighting design firm L-Plan LIGHTING DESIGN, create a mesmerizing effect that mimics bathing in a sparkling evening sea. The innovative LED technology beautifully illuminates the pool’s walls, enhancing the peaceful ambiance.
Under the skilled interior design leadership of jagdfeld design KG, the pool’s luxurious new look continues the celebrated aesthetic established by designer Anne Maria Jagdfeld, who has been shaping the iconic style of the internationally recognized Hotel Adlon for over 27 years. In partnership with Kempinski Hotel Group and DH Deutsche Development Holding, a 900-square-meter relaxation oasis has been crafted. This modern, understated design offers bright, open areas for relaxation, including a cozy fireplace lounge, expansive rest zones, and a perfectly heated whirlpool.
“We are thrilled to have created a modern and timeless retreat for our guests in the best sense of the word, which is in no way inferior to the much-vaunted ‘Adlon Spa by Resense.’ The new meditative ambience enables a completely new feel-good experience,” explains interior designer Anne Maria Jagdfeld.
Since the beginning of 2024, the former Roman spa aesthetic has been replaced by a completely reimagined, elegant haven of relaxation in the heart of Berlin. This newly transformed space offers a comprehensive array of services, ensuring every guest’s desire is met, making it a true oasis in the bustling city center.
The ADLON POOL offers a diverse selection of luxurious experiences, perfect for a lavish retreat. Beyond the swimming pool and whirlpool, the extensive sauna area showcases a range of treatments provided by Italian spa expert STARPOOL. These include a traditional Finnish sauna, a soft sauna with reduced temperature, a steam bath with a marble effect inspired by Arabian hammams, an invigorating ice waterfall, and a refreshing plunge pool.
Guests can also enjoy unique sensory showers from WDT Werner Dosiertechnik, featuring color-changing lights, calming sounds like ocean waves and birdsong, aromatic mint sprays, and varied water effects such as Caribbean rain and massage-like droplet patterns, making each shower a multi-sensory experience.
Fitness enthusiasts will find the ultra-modern 24-hour gym equipped with the latest high-tech machines from TECHNOGYM, a leader in sports equipment. The gym offers a digitally controlled workout experience, combining fitness routines with entertainment options like training videos, news, movies, and popular TV shows. Additionally, guests can take advantage of dumbbells, treadmills, stair climbers, stationary bikes, steppers, and rowing machines, all designed for professional-level workouts. Personal training sessions with experienced trainers are available by appointment for those seeking expert guidance.
In classic Adlon fashion, the newly designed and spacious pool bar elevates the culinary experience. Guests can indulge in freshly prepared fruit and vegetable juices, healthy bowls, Caesar salads, Wiener schnitzel with cucumber and potato salad, and the famous ADLON currywurst topped with edible gold leaf. A variety of cocktails, teas, and specialty coffees add to the menu, offering delightful moments of relaxation.
Located in the basement of the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, the ADLON POOL offers a serene escape from the demands of everyday life. “We have eagerly awaited the reopening of our wellness area and are thrilled to complement our ‘Adlon Spa by Resense’ with the newly designed ADLON POOL, offering guests a complete and modern relaxation experience,” said Hotel Director Karina Ansos.
For now, the ADLON POOL is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00 and is free for hotel guests. The hours may be adjusted based on guest preferences. External visitors can also enjoy access, with day passes available from Monday to Friday for EUR 65, and on weekends for EUR 85. These passes include access to the sauna and fitness areas, bathrobe and towel service, along with complimentary tea, water, and fruit, subject to availability.
