The Kremlin downplayed the significance of the new U.S. military aid package, claiming it will not alter the ongoing conflict’s dynamics where Russia maintains the advantage on the front lines. Despite Russia’s assessment, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of long-range weapons and air defense systems to enhance Ukraine’s armed forces and increase their chances of victory.
The delay in approving the aid package had led to ammunition shortages for Ukrainian forces. However, with the House’s approval, Ukraine can expect a swift transfer of military supplies to replenish its stocks and bolster its defense capabilities.
Russia suspects that the primary beneficiary of the aid will be the U.S. defense industry, predicting that a significant portion of the funds will remain within the country. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed that this outcome was anticipated by President Vladimir Putin.
