Houston Woman’s Death Investigated as Possible Involvement of Ex-Boyfriend

Detectives in Houston are investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman found shot to death in her car on Sunday. The victim, identified as Rosenda Garcia, was discovered in her vehicle on the 11900 block of 7th Street. According to police, a man approached Garcia’s car, fired multiple shots, and fled in a white Jeep Renegade.

Garcia’s son, Daniel Gonzalez, stated that his mother had recently evicted her boyfriend from their apartment prior to her death. Gonzalez expressed concerns that the ex-boyfriend, who has not been named or charged, may have been involved in the shooting. He revealed that the ex-boyfriend had exhibited disturbing behavior in the past, including calling the police on himself last year during an emotional episode and brandishing a gun.

Despite the lack of domestic violence charges, Gonzalez believes the ex-boyfriend played a role in his mother’s death. He said the man has not been answering his calls or reporting to work since the incident. Gonzalez and his family have been actively searching for the ex-boyfriend, who they believe may have fled to Mexico.

The Houston Police Department is seeking information from the public regarding the case. Anyone with knowledge of the incident is urged to contact the Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 713-222-TIPS. Gonzalez expressed his desire for a swift resolution and for his mother’s alleged killer to be brought to justice.
