The Nest Learning Thermostat is a great way to save money and stay comfortable, but it’s not for everyone. If you prefer to create your own heating and cooling schedule, you can easily disable Auto-Schedule and program in your own temps.
Here’s how to disable Auto-Schedule on the Nest Learning Thermostat:
1. Open the Google Home app or Nest app.
2. Navigate to your thermostat’s menu.
3. Select “Settings”.
4. Select “Auto-Schedule”.
5. Toggle the switch to the “Off” position.
Once you have disabled Auto-Schedule, you can create a new heating and cooling schedule.
To set up a new heating and cooling schedule:
1. Open the schedule screen on your thermostat.
2. Change your temperature settings or program in a new one.
Keep in mind that Home or Away schedules might still kick in and alter your manually programmed schedules, so consider taking this time to check what happens to your system when you activate one of these modes.
If you turn off Auto-Schedule and don’t program in a manual schedule, your thermostat will simply hold your home at the current temperature until you change it.
Most people will find that Auto-Schedule is a great feature, but if it’s not working for you, there’s nothing stopping you from creating your own routines.
