Step 1: Access Your Account Settings
Navigate to the “Settings” app on your iPhone (gear icon on the home screen). Tap on your Apple account name at the top of the menu.
Step 2: Select Sign-in & Security
Within the account settings, select “Sign-in & Security” to access the security options.
Step 3: Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Tap on the “Two-Factor Authentication” option. You’ll be prompted to enter your Apple ID password.
Step 4: Add a Trusted Phone Number
Choose “Add a Trusted Phone Number” and enter your desired phone number. Note that the area code replaces the first digit of the phone number.
Select whether you want to receive the verification code via text message or phone call.
Step 5: Add Additional Trusted Numbers (Optional)
Repeat steps 2-4 to add another trusted phone number as a backup in case you lose access to your primary number.
Note:
– You can only delete a trusted number if you have more than one verified number associated with your account.
– Setting up 2FA may seem a bit tricky for new users, but following these steps will ensure your Apple account remains secure.
