Human Remains Discovered Near Moose Jaw, RCMP Investigates
The Moose Jaw RCMP is conducting an investigation following the discovery of human remains in a rural area northeast of Moose Jaw on April 28, 2023. The remains were reported to police at 2:20 p.m. and are believed to have been at the location for 10 years or longer.
Investigators have consulted with a forensic anthropologist and pathologist, who have examined the remains and assisted in determining their approximate age and condition. The identity of the individual has not yet been established.
The RCMP has stated that the investigation will consider historical missing persons cases in the area. The Moose Jaw RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Historical Case Unit are actively searching the rural area where the remains were found.
Police have indicated that the death is not currently believed to be suspicious in nature. However, the investigation remains ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
