Get ready for a weekend of high-octane action as the Rally of Hyderabad, the fourth round of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship, roars into life from October 18 to 20. The city will be buzzing with the thrill of motorsport as some of India’s top drivers gear up for a challenging and exhilarating race.
The star-studded lineup includes reigning champion Arjun Rao Aroor, Arjuna awardee Gaurav Gill, and former champion Karna Kadur, ensuring a fierce battle for the podium. Adding to the excitement are young drivers like Aditya Thakur, Fabid Ahmer, Harkishan Wadi, and Jahaan Singh Gill who are eager to prove their skills. Adding a layer of diversity, female drivers Harshitha Raj Gowda, Phoebe Nongrum, and Nikeetaa Takkale will be pushing their limits on the challenging tracks.
With six cars competing in the top INRC class, 13 in INRC2, and 26 in INRC3, the competition is set to be fierce across all categories. The INRC3 class will be particularly intense, with five drivers vying for the Junior INRC title. Harkrishan Wadia currently holds a four-point lead over Aditya in the INRC2 class, while local star Jeet Jabhakh leads the INRC3 class, followed closely by Daraius Shroff just nine points behind.
The rally itself is a testament to skill and strategy. The drivers will be navigating tricky dirt and gravel stages, with all-new routes designed to challenge their expertise. The race will consist of six timed Special Stages, spread across two physical stages at JVR and JJR gardens in the Muchintal area near the airport. The JVR stage spans 16.8km, while the JJR Stage stretches for 20km, making for a total Special Stage distance of 112.80km. In contrast, the transport distance (liaison) will be a relatively short 18.23km.
Beyond the INRC classes, the excitement will extend to the FMSCI Challenge trophies, with separate races for Gypsy, SUV, and Classic classes. The NR4 class will also be a part of the event, ensuring diverse racing action for all motorsport enthusiasts.
