The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the transfer of Hyderabad South Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police, P. Sai Chaitanya. The transfer, as conveyed to Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, does not specify any particular reason. The ECI has instructed that Mr. Chaitanya hand over his responsibilities to a subordinate officer who will not be involved in any election-related work during the Lok Sabha elections. In compliance with these directives, the Chief Secretary has directed the Director General of Police to take appropriate action. She emphasized that the subordinate officer should not be assigned any election-related duties until the conclusion of the general election to the House of People in the state.
