During a conversation with The Big Issue, McKellen revealed that he has been informed about new ‘Lord of the Rings’ films in development and has been approached to reprise his role as Gandalf. While not explicitly confirming his involvement, McKellen hinted at his eagerness, stating, “Gandalf will be involved, and they hope that I’ll be playing him.”
Further fueling the excitement, McKellen told BBC Breakfast, “I’m not letting anyone else put on the pointy hat and beard if I can help it.” He emphasized his enduring love for the ‘Lord of the Rings’ universe and his willingness to continue acting as long as his body allows.
