In a commendable move that has garnered widespread acclaim on social media, IAS officer Tina Dabi, the district collector of Barmer, Rajasthan, took decisive action against an alleged sex racket operating under the facade of a spa center.
Dabi, who assumed her role just last month, led a team that conducted raids on the spa facility suspected of engaging in illegal activities. Viral videos and reports reveal that the operation was conducted under the pretext of a “safai abhiyaan” or cleanliness drive, showcasing a strategic approach to tackling the issue.
During the raid, police officials reportedly discovered four women and two men locked inside a room at the spa. The SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) broke down the door and apprehended the individuals, who were later taken into custody for verification and questioning. Although police officials initially did not mention Dabi’s name, reports from NDTV confirmed her key role in the operation.
According to reports, Dabi arrived at the spa during a surprise inspection, noticing locked doors and suspicious activity. The presence of multiple rooms within the spa, along with individuals found in what was described as “objectionable conditions,” further validated the allegations of a sex racket.
Social media erupted in praise for Dabi’s prompt and courageous action, with many users likening her to “Singham,” a popular fictional police officer celebrated for bravery and integrity. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of sex trafficking and exploitation, emphasizing the urgent need for vigilant efforts to combat such illegal activities. It also underscores the vital role of public officials in proactively addressing these challenges.
