IBTM World, the renowned global trade show for the meetings and events industry, is gearing up for its 2024 edition with an exciting lineup of new exhibitors and destinations. The event, which will be held at the Fira de Barcelona from November 19 to 21, has already generated significant interest from exhibitors eager to showcase their offerings to a global audience.
This year’s event will feature a diverse range of destinations from around the world, including new entrants from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Beijing, China, and Uzbekistan’s Inter MICE Asia will make their debut at IBTM World, joining returning destinations like Sri Lanka (after a hiatus since 2019). Toronto will have its own dedicated stand, while Mauritius will represent East Africa. The UAE’s Ajman is set to participate for the first time, and the Dominican Republic makes a highly anticipated return after a five-year absence.
Claudia Hall, IBTM World Exhibition Director, expressed her excitement about the influx of new exhibitors: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming so many new faces to IBTM World this year. It is a true testament to the confidence exhibitors feel in the value the show provides for them. Our theme for 2024, ‘People. Power. Potential.’, emphasises the belief that what people need to succeed is other people, and our new exhibitors exemplify this wholeheartedly. Their presence will only enhance the industry-leading quality of connections our wonderful delegates find here, and we can’t wait to expand attendees’ opportunities with ever more dynamic and exciting destinations and hotels.”
IBTM World’s new Hotel Pavilion, a dedicated space for independent and boutique hotels, promises to be a highlight. Nobu Hotel Shoreditch London and the luxurious Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka from Japan are among the notable participants. Joining the 2024 hotel lineup for the first time are Ayana Hospitality, a renowned Indonesian chain of luxury hotels and resorts, alongside the Greek Civitel Hotels and Resorts, Italy’s JADA Hotels Collection, and OKU Hotels, a group of luxury properties across the Mediterranean.
While the event will welcome numerous new exhibitors, many returning participants are expanding their presence at IBTM World 2024. Bruges, for instance, is nearly tripling the size of its stand compared to 2023. Slovenia and Serbia are also increasing their exhibition spaces by 25% and 22%, respectively. Antwerp is making its largest appearance yet, boosting its stand size by 23% after the success of last year’s event.
With a diverse range of destinations, hotels, and exhibitors, IBTM World 2024 promises to be a dynamic and valuable event for professionals in the meetings and events industry. The expanded presence of exhibitors and destinations reflects the growing confidence in the industry and the value of face-to-face connections in driving business success.
