An ice cream vendor identified as Prabhat, who resided in Sangam Vihar, was setting up his stall at India Gate’s C-Hexagon when he was attacked. According to Devesh Mahla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), they received a report at approximately 9 pm on Wednesday regarding a dispute near India Gate at Kartavya Path Police Station. The police promptly arrived at the scene, and following an inquiry, the injured individual was identified as Prabhat. He was transferred to Lady Hardinge Hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his multiple stab wounds.
The investigation uncovered that Prabhat, an ice cream vendor at India Gate’s C-Hexagon, was setting up his stall when he was attacked. Mahla stated that a man in his twenties approached Prabhat’s ice cream stall and stabbed him multiple times. A dedicated team headed by Inspector Jitender, SHO, Kartavya Path Police Station, was formed and promptly initiated electronic surveillance of the mobile numbers associated with the girl and the relatives. The investigation yielded the discovery of slippers at the scene, which were subsequently seized. However, the deceased man’s mobile phone was nowhere to be found.
In order to ascertain the attacker’s escape route, the police meticulously analyzed CCTV footage. Additionally, the team conducted numerous raids at various locations throughout Delhi. Prabhat’s family members were thoroughly questioned, which revealed that the deceased had been involved in a relationship with an underage girl. According to the police, their inquiry demonstrated that the minor girl was also romantically involved with another individual named Ajay, who was 23 years old. Ajay was subsequently apprehended, and Prabhat’s mobile phone was discovered in his possession. Ajay was employed as a laborer and driver at a tent house in Noida.
