The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai, a prominent unit of the Indian Railways, has commenced the online application process for the recruitment of 1010 apprentices across several engineering trades. Interested candidates are invited to apply through the official ICF Chennai recruitment portal at pb.icf.gov.in by June 21, 2024.
The apprenticeship opportunities are categorized into two groups: Trade Apprentice for Freshers and Ex ITI. For Freshers, there are 330 vacancies available, requiring candidates to have completed Class 10 High School with a minimum of 50% marks and studied Science/Math at the 10+2 level.
For the Ex ITI category, ICF Chennai is offering 680 apprenticeships. Eligible candidates must have completed Class 10 High School with at least 50% marks and possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade.
The stipend for apprentices during the training period ranges from ₹6000 to ₹7000 per month. Freshers who are school pass-outs from class 10th receive ₹6000 per month, while those from class 12th receive ₹7000 per month. Ex-ITI individuals holding a National or State certificate also receive ₹7000 per month. It is noteworthy that during the second year of apprenticeship training, there will be a 10% increase in the prescribed minimum stipend amount.
