IHCL Expands Portfolio to 326 Hotels, Showcasing Strong Growth in Q1 FY 2025

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the leading hospitality brand in India, has continued its robust expansion strategy in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025. IHCL has signed 16 new agreements and opened 6 new properties, bringing their total portfolio to 326 hotels. This impressive growth includes a pipeline of 102 upcoming hotels, further solidifying their position as a leader in the industry.

Speaking about this significant development, Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, highlighted the strategic approach behind the expansion. “Quarter one signings are reflective of our development strategy of accelerating growth and maintaining leadership in the Indian sub-continent. We entered into agreements for new markets like a Taj in Kanpur and Panchkula and a Gateway in Sarnath and Barnala. We grew our presence with multiple brands in existing markets with the signing of Tree of Life resorts in Gangtok and Srinagar, a Taj in Anjuna, Goa, and Gateway in Sawai Madhopur.” She further emphasized the strong response to the re-imagined Gateway brand across these 16 signings.

IHCL’s portfolio as of June 30, 2024, comprises a diverse range of brands, including:

81 operating hotels and 33 in the pipeline, totaling 114.

SeleQtions:

23 operating hotels and 13 in the pipeline, totaling 36.

Tree of Life:

16 operating hotels and 0 in the pipeline, totaling 16.

Gateway:

8 operating hotels and 8 in the pipeline, totaling 16.
*

Vivanta:

30 operating hotels and 22 in the pipeline, totaling 52.

Ginger:

66 operating hotels and 26 in the pipeline, totaling 92.

This brings the total number of operating hotels to 224 and the pipeline to 102, resulting in a grand total of 326 hotels.

Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses, IHCL, shed light on the impressive pace of hotel openings in the first quarter. “Our hotel openings in the first quarter have kept pace with our guidance of two hotels a month, from foraying into new leisure destinations with a 77 keys SeleQtions at Mahabaleshwar to being present in prominent commercial hubs like Nagpur with an 86 keys Ginger hotel. We also added to our presence in the industrial city of Jamshedpur with 94 keys Vivanta hotel.” She further elaborated on IHCL’s commitment to asset management, highlighting the reopening of the iconic Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Cochin after a comprehensive renovation, emphasizing their dedication to protecting the leadership of their iconic hotels.
