IHG Expands ANA Crowne Plaza Brand in Japan with Three New Hotels

IHG, the global hospitality company, is expanding its presence in Japan with a strategic partnership with Hotel Management International (HMI). The collaboration involves rebranding three existing hotels under the renowned ANA Crowne Plaza brand, marking a significant milestone in IHG’s growth strategy in the country.

The three hotels, currently known as Crown Palais hotels, will be transformed into high-end accommodations catering to both domestic and international travelers. Each property will undergo comprehensive renovations to align with the Crowne Plaza brand’s standards of comfort, style, and service, ensuring modern amenities and features that appeal to both business and leisure travelers.

The rebranded properties will be known as ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi, ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu, and ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu, adding to the existing network of 23 ANA Crowne Plaza hotels in Japan. The rebranding initiative is expected to be completed by the first half of 2026.

ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi will serve as a gateway for travelers exploring the scenic beauty and cultural heritage of the Kochi region. ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu will strategically cater to business travelers and tourists in the bustling city of Chiryu, offering convenience and top-tier services. ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu will provide a luxurious experience for visitors in the renowned city of Hamamatsu, known for its rich cultural history and vibrant business environment.

The partnership between IHG and HMI reflects a shared commitment to excellence and innovation in the hospitality industry. By combining IHG’s global reach and brand recognition with HMI’s local market expertise, the collaboration aims to deliver exceptional guest experiences and set new benchmarks in service delivery.

The addition of these three hotels strengthens IHG’s foothold in Japan’s competitive hospitality sector, further solidifying its commitment to catering to the increasing demand for quality accommodations. With a total of 47 hotels currently operating in Japan, and 15 more in various stages of development, IHG demonstrates its strong confidence in the potential of Japan’s tourism and hospitality market.

The rebranding of these hotels under the ANA Crowne Plaza banner not only boosts the brand’s visibility but also promises to deliver exceptional guest experiences that align with IHG’s global standards. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to expand IHG’s presence in key regions, meeting the needs of both business and leisure travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and top-tier service.
