IHG Hotels & Resorts, a leading global hotel company, is expanding its footprint in Egypt with the launch of the first Holiday Inn Express hotel in the country. The company has signed a management agreement with Arkan Palm for Real Estate Investment to bring this popular brand to Cairo.
Holiday Inn Express, known for its commitment to providing accessible and comfortable accommodations, is IHG’s largest and fastest-growing hotel brand with over 3,100 hotels worldwide. It has become a preferred choice for travelers seeking a straightforward and engaging space to rest, recharge, and work.
Set to open in 2027, Holiday Inn Express West Cairo 205 will be strategically located in the vibrant West Cairo area, offering easy access to popular attractions like the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Designed to cater to the needs of tech-savvy travelers, the hotel will feature essential amenities, including high-speed Wi-Fi, well-appointed rooms, two meeting venues, F&B and retail outlets, and a fitness center.

Arkan Palm for Real Estate Investment has a proven track record in the hospitality sector, having successfully delivered a Crowne Plaza hotel in West Cairo in February 2022. The group is also developing a 250-key InterContinental West Cairo 205, scheduled for completion in 2028, and a 140-key voco West Cairo 205 Suites, slated to open in 2026.
IHG currently operates seven hotels across four brands in Egypt: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites. The company has an ambitious pipeline with 19 hotels planned to open across the country within the next five years, further solidifying its commitment to the Egyptian market.
