IHG Hotels & Resorts, a leading name in the global hospitality industry, is making waves in Spain with the announcement of four new hotel signings: Vignette Collection Mallorca – Finca Banyols, Vignette Collection Jerez, Hotel Indigo Gandia – Beach, and Holiday Inn Express San Sebastian – Errenteria. This strategic expansion marks a significant step forward for IHG in Spain, adding nearly 700 rooms to its portfolio in the first nine months of 2024, bringing the total number of open and signed rooms in the country to almost 13,000.
The addition of Hotel Indigo Gandia – Beach and Vignette Collection Jerez further strengthens IHG’s presence in the Luxury & Lifestyle sector in Spain. The latter marks the second property under the Vignette Collection brand in Spain, joining the previously announced Vignette Collection Mallorca – Finca Banyols, which is set to open in the first half of 2025. Meanwhile, Holiday Inn Express San Sebastian – Errenteria reinforces the strong legacy of IHG’s popular Holiday Inn brand family in Spain, demonstrating the continued trust and interest from owners and investors in its well-regarded Essentials brands.

Vignette Collection Mallorca – Finca Banyols:
Situated within a charming Mallorcan finca, this 45-room property, managed by Hotel Collection International and owned by Prevario Banyols, will offer guests a unique experience amidst lush vineyards and olive groves on the beautiful island of Mallorca. It is slated to open in the first half of 2025.*
Vignette Collection Jerez:
This elegant boutique hotel, featuring 34 rooms and in partnership with Senator Hotels & Resorts, will become the second Vignette Collection property in Spain. Located in the heart of Jerez, a short walk from the historic town square, this hotel promises to immerse visitors in Andalusia’s rich culture of history, gastronomy, wine, and flamenco. Its grand opening is scheduled for the latter half of 2025.*
Hotel Indigo Gandia – Beach:
This 40-room beachfront hotel, also in collaboration with Senator Hotels & Resorts, will offer breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Nestled in the vibrant coastal city of Gandia, this hotel promises a stylish atmosphere and an immersive local experience. The highlight of this property is its beach club, along with a pool, bar, and restaurant, all focused on showcasing dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Its opening is expected in mid-2025.*
Holiday Inn Express San Sebastian – Errenteria:
This 82-room hotel marks the second signing in this announcement with Hotel Collection International, expanding their partnership to a total of seven properties. Scheduled to open in mid-2026, it will be located just outside San Sebastian in the Errenteria area, close to the airport and the French border, providing guests with a convenient base to explore Spain’s picturesque Basque Country.(Mrs) Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed her enthusiasm about the expansion, saying: “As one of IHG’s priority markets, it’s wonderful to grow our footprint so substantially in Spain, where we’ve signed nearly 700 rooms in the first nine months of this year. IHG currently operates 55 hotels across eight brands in Spain, including Six Senses, InterContinental, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express, and Holiday Inn. Furthermore, there are 22 Iberostar properties open, with another 12 planned for development, further strengthening IHG’s presence in the resort and all-inclusive sectors.
Looking ahead, IHG has outlined plans for five new hotels spanning three brand collections: Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, and Essentials. These upcoming properties include Hotel Indigo in Jerez de la Frontera, Vignette Collection Mallorca – Finca Banyols, voco Granada, Holiday Inn Express Seville – City, and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sabadell.
