A group of four IIT Delhi alumni, known for their appearance on Shark Tank India, is back in the limelight with their latest creation: Aroleap X, a smart and compact home gym designed to make data-driven fitness training accessible to everyone. Founded by Aman Rai, Anurag Daini, Amal George Mechirackal, and Rohit Patel, this startup has gained significant attention, especially after receiving an endorsement from industrialist Anand Mahindra.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Mahindra praised the innovative design of Aroleap X, stating, “Home gym created by 4 IIT grads. No rocket science here. But a clever convergence of mechanics & physical therapy principles to design a product that has global potential. Perfect for small apartments and even Business Hotel rooms! Bravo!”
The promotional video showcased how Aroleap X combines mechanical engineering with physical therapy principles, offering over 150 exercises and AI-driven training sessions. These features allow for real-time monitoring of user progress and personalized workout routines, providing an efficient and tailored fitness experience.
Despite the excitement, social media reactions have been mixed. While many users appreciated Aroleap X as a “cool idea” for home fitness, others accused the creators of plagiarism, claiming the concept resembles products from American companies featured on Shark Tank USA.
Comments on social media included: “This is actually a rip-off from an American company,” and “These kinds of home gyms are not new or groundbreaking.” Critics suggested that while the technical expertise of the IIT graduates is commendable, the claims of originality should be examined further.
The controversy raises important questions about Aroleap X’s originality and market viability. As the product enters the competitive home fitness landscape, it will be intriguing to see how consumers respond and whether it can establish a unique position amidst similar offerings.
