IMD Predicts Rainfall, Thunderstorms, and Gusty Winds Across Various Indian States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted possible rainfall over parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh until May 10. Additionally, hot and humid weather conditions are likely in Gujarat until May 13, and over Kerala until May 10.

The weather department has released a list of maximum temperatures recorded in various cities across India, including Barmer (Rajasthan) at 45.6 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) at 45.2 degrees Celsius, and Sriganganagar (Rajasthan) at 45.2 degrees Celsius.

IMD anticipates light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds over West Bengal and Sikkim until May 11. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to witness similar weather conditions until May 12.

A cyclonic circulation over Tamil Nadu and a trough/wind discontinuity running from northeast Rajasthan to South Interior Karnataka are expected to bring light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, and Karnataka until May 12.

The IMD’s weather bulletin also predicts light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until May 15. Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha can expect similar weather conditions until May 12, while Maharashtra may experience similar conditions on May 12.

Heavy showers are expected to grace the regions of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until May 11 and Kerala on May 11. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand can anticipate wet spells until May 12.
