Imran Khan to Mark Acting Comeback with Vir Das’s Directorial ‘Happy Patel’, Backed by Aamir Khan

Imran Khan, who has been contemplating a return to the world of acting for a while, is finally getting back in front of the camera for Vir Das’s directorial debut, ‘Happy Patel,’ a quirky comedy produced by Aamir Khan’s production company. This will mark Imran’s comeback on the silver screen after almost eight months since he expressed his desire to act in films again.

Sources close to the project have confirmed that Imran has ‘finalized’ his involvement in the film, in which he’ll play the lead role as Happy Patel. The film is described as a hilarious romp set in an environment that combines familiarity with creative distinction, akin to Imran’s previous works.

The report further stated that the shooting has already commenced in the beautiful state of Goa. Apart from making his acting comeback, Imran will also be reuniting with Vir Das, as they had previously worked together in the film ‘Delhi Belly,’ which was also backed by Aamir Khan.

Imran made his debut as a lead actor in the successful film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ alongside Genelia D’Souza, quickly becoming the chocolate boy of B-town. His last film appearance was in ‘Katti Batti’ in 2015, starring Kangana Ranaut, after which he took a break from acting.
