In-N-Out Burger Expands in Portland Metro Area with Proposed Vancouver Location

In-N-Out Burger, the beloved California-based fast-food chain, is continuing its expansion in the Portland metro area with a proposed new location in Vancouver, Washington. The company has submitted a pre-application for a 3,800-square-foot restaurant at 13511 Southeast 3rd Way, situated at the intersection with Mill Plain Boulevard. The proposed establishment will include a drive-through and outdoor seating, catering to the convenience and comfort of customers.

A pre-application conference is scheduled for May 9, marking the initial step in the land use planning process. The developer has one year from the date of the pre-application meeting to advance the project to the next stage or face the prospect of restarting the process.

This proposed location in Vancouver is part of a larger expansion strategy by In-N-Out Burger in the Portland metro area. Earlier this month, the chain submitted a land use application for a potential site at 10565 Southwest Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. In February, In-N-Out Burger filed a development application with the city of Ridgefield, Washington, with plans to open a restaurant in 2025.

Currently, the closest In-N-Out Burger location to the Portland metro area is in Keizer, Oregon. The chain has four other locations in the state, including Grants Pass, Medford, and Roseburg. Despite the expansion in surrounding areas, there has been no indication yet of In-N-Out Burger moving directly into Portland or Multnomah County.
