The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for four states, signaling the possibility of heavy precipitation. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa are expected to experience significant rainfall on Saturday, September 7. Meanwhile, Delhi is on yellow alert for the day.
The IMD’s weather forecast extends beyond these immediate alerts. Gujarat is expected to see wet spells on September 7, while Maharashtra and Goa can anticipate rainfall until September 9. The agency also predicts isolated heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh until September 13.
Looking at South Peninsular India, the IMD predicts isolated very heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on September 8 and 9, followed by Telangana on September 9 and 10. Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka are expected to receive heavy rainfall until September 10, while Telangana can anticipate similar conditions for the next three days.
Moving to East and Northeast India, the IMD predicts isolated very heavy rainfall in Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 9 to 12. Odisha is expected to witness heavy rainfall on September 8 and 9. Additionally, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura can expect heavy rainfall until September 13, while Odisha and Jharkhand may experience similar conditions until September 10. Bihar is anticipated to see heavy downpours on September 7, followed by Sikkim on September 9 and 10. West Bengal is expected to experience rainfall from September 9 to 12, and Arunachal Pradesh from September 10 to 12.
In Northwest India, heavy showers are likely in Rajasthan today, with Uttarakhand expecting heavy rainfall on September 7, Uttar Pradesh on September 9 and 10, and Rajasthan continuing to see rainfall until September 8.
