Get ready for a wet week as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall across various regions of India.
Heavy Rains in the North:
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, with isolated regions expecting heavy to very heavy downpours. Delhi is also expected to experience light to moderate rain in areas like Narela, Bawana, and Akshardham.
West Bengal and Sikkim Under Alert:
A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for West Bengal and Sikkim for the upcoming week. The weather observatory anticipates heavy to very heavy rain on September 27th and 28th, with additional heavy rainfall expected on October 2nd.
Rainfall Across India:
The IMD has forecast normal to above normal rainfall across the country, with the exception of South Peninsular India. This region is expected to receive below normal to normal rainfall over the week.
Heavy Rainfall in West India:
Konkan and Goa are predicted to experience fairly widespread to widespread rain and light to moderate rain throughout the week. Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat are expected to experience similar rainfall conditions over the next three days, until September 29th. A heavy rainfall alert has also been issued for Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch on September 28th.
East and Northeast India:
Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to see heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 27th. The region is also expected to experience heavy rainfall on September 28th and October 2nd. Isolated heavy rainfall is also anticipated in specific regions: Jharkhand on September 27th, Bihar on September 28th, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during September 30th-October 2nd.
Northwest India:
The IMD predicts isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh on September 27th. A very heavy rainfall alert has also been issued for Uttarakhand on September 28th.
South Peninsular India:
Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is predicted for the region throughout the week. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected for Kerala and Mahe during September 28th-30th, South Interior Karnataka on September 29th, and Coastal Karnataka on September 30th.
