India Faces Serbia in Chess Olympiad Round Four, Women’s Team Takes on France

The Indian men’s chess team is set for a thrilling clash against Serbia in the fourth round of the open section at the Chess Olympiad 2024. The match is scheduled for Saturday at the SYMA Sports and Conference Centre in Budapest, Hungary. Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team, currently holding the top seed, will face France in the third round of the women’s section.

The women’s team had a strong showing in the previous round, defeating Switzerland with a score of 3-1. Despite a loss by Harika Dronavalli on the top board against Alexandra Kosteniuk, the rest of the team secured crucial wins. R. Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, and Vantika Agrawal all emerged victorious, securing their third consecutive win.

The men’s team also continued their impressive run, overcoming the second host team, Hungary ‘B’, with a dominant 3.5-0.5 victory in their third-round match.
