Addressing the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia, PM Modi emphasized India’s unwavering belief in peaceful resolutions. He reiterated India’s commitment to contributing towards the restoration of peace in these regions, emphasizing that war is never the solution.

Echoing this sentiment, Chancellor Scholz highlighted India’s crucial role as an anchor of stability in South Asia, particularly in the context of the current global landscape. He acknowledged the significant impact of Russia’s war on Ukraine on both Germany and India, stressing the importance of a rules-based international order.

He also underscored the importance of de-escalation in the Middle East, calling for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and a political process that leads to a two-state solution.

Skilled Labor and Economic Growth:

PM Modi welcomed Germany’s Skilled Labour Strategies for India, acknowledging the significant contribution of Indian youth to Germany’s prosperity and growth. He expressed confidence that Germany’s decision to increase visas for skilled Indians from 20,000 to 90,000 annually will provide a fresh impetus to Germany’s economic development.

Both leaders underscored the flourishing economic ties between the two countries, with bilateral trade reaching over $30 billion. Hundreds of German companies are operating in India, while Indian companies are rapidly expanding their presence in Germany. Recognizing India’s growing role as a global hub for trade and manufacturing, PM Modi encouraged German businesses to embrace the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ initiative.
