India Post to Release Gramin Dak Sevak Exam Merit List Soon

India Post is set to announce the first merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) exam shortly. Candidates who applied for the GDS examination can check the merit list on the official India Post website at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Along with the merit list, India Post is expected to release the cut-off marks and other important details. The merit list will be based on the candidates’ scores in the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) from recognized boards, converted to a percentage with four decimal places.

All shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo physical verification. The dates for physical verification will be communicated to the candidates via SMS on their registered mobile numbers. Selected candidates must submit an undertaking, as per the format provided in Annexure-IX, acknowledging the penalties for submitting false or incorrect information during the application process.

India Post, India’s largest postal network service, announced the recruitment of 44,228 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions in July. Online applications were accepted from July 15 to August 5, 2024, through the official website, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The recruited candidates will be appointed as Branch Postmaster (BPM) or Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak. The salary for these positions ranges from ₹ 10,000-24,470 per month for ABPM / GDS and ₹ 12,000-29,380 for BPM. The eligibility criteria required candidates to be between 18-40 years of age and possess a Class 10 certificate. To apply, candidates needed to provide their Secondary School Examination Pass Certificate, which included passing marks in Mathematics and English from any government-recognized school board.

The upcoming release of the first merit list marks a significant milestone in the recruitment process. Candidates who have successfully cleared this stage will move on to the next phase, physical verification, and ultimately, the appointment as Gramin Dak Sevaks.
