India Wins Gold in Archery World Cup Stage-3, Securing Third Consecutive Team Victory

The Indian women’s compound archery team claimed the gold medal in a thrilling final at the Archery World Cup Stage-3 in Antalya, Turkey on Saturday. The trio of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur showcased their prowess, defeating Estonia by a score of 232-229 in the title clash. This victory marks an incredible feat for the team, as they have now secured a hat-trick of gold medals at the Archery World Cup in 2024, having previously claimed top honors in Shanghai and Yecheon earlier this year.

This win makes it India’s THIRD consecutive team GOLD medal at the Hyundai Archery World Cup. The team showcased their dominance throughout the tournament, receiving a bye in the first round due to a limited field of only 10 countries. They then went on to secure victories against El Salvador (235-227) and the host nation Turkey (234-227) to reach the final.

While the women’s team triumphed, the Indian men’s team, consisting of Priyansh, Abhishek Verma and Prathamesh Fuge, faced a heartbreaking loss in the semifinals against Turkey. The match ended in a tie (236-236) forcing a shoot-off. Although both teams scored 30*, Turkey’s arrow landed closer to the center, securing them a narrow victory. In the bronze medal match, the men’s team battled hard but ultimately fell short against France by a score of 236-235.
