Indian Army Neutralizes Three Terrorists in Fierce 27-Hour Encounter in Jammu and Kashmir

In a decisive blow against terrorism, Indian security forces successfully neutralized three terrorists in a 27-hour long encounter in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, which began on Monday morning, involved a fierce gun battle that spanned over two days and saw the deployment of advanced weaponry and tactics.

The encounter was triggered when terrorists opened fire on an army convoy near the Line of Control (LoC), targeting an ambulance. The Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and special forces, including National Security Guard (NSG) commandos, responded swiftly. The initial phase of the operation saw the elimination of one terrorist by Monday evening.

To enhance the operation and secure the area, BMP-II infantry combat vehicles were deployed, providing crucial support and reinforcing the cordon. Helicopters and drones were also utilized to locate the hiding terrorists, showcasing the sophisticated tactics employed by the security forces.

The final assault on the remaining terrorists unfolded near the Assan temple in Jogwan village, located in the Battal-Khour area. At around 7 AM on Tuesday, a renewed gunfight erupted, lasting over an hour and involving intense gunfire and deafening explosions. The second terrorist was eliminated during this intense phase of the operation.

Sporadic exchanges of fire continued for an additional hour before the third militant was also killed. Security forces are currently focused on retrieving the bodies of the slain terrorists, believed to have infiltrated from across the border on Sunday night.

Tragically, the encounter resulted in the heroic sacrifice of a four-year-old Army dog named Phantom, who was struck by a bullet during the operation. His bravery is a testament to the unwavering dedication and courage of all those who fight against terrorism in the region.

This encounter is the latest in a concerning rise of terrorist activities across Kashmir. In the past two weeks alone, seven attacks have been reported, resulting in 13 fatalities, including two soldiers. The Indian security forces remain vigilant and committed to maintaining peace and security in the region, utilizing advanced tactics and technology to counter the threat of terrorism.
