Indian Athletes to Compete in Multiple Events at Paris Paralympics on September 1st

The 17th edition of the Summer Paralympics, held in Paris, is in full swing, with events spanning across 22 sports. Day four promises to be a thrilling one for Indian athletes, as they prepare to compete in a range of disciplines.

Para Badminton

will see Mandeep Kaur battling Mariam Eniola Bolaji (NGR) in the Women’s Singles SL3 Quarterfinal at 12:00 IST. Palak Kohli will face Khalimatus Sadiyah (INA) in the Women’s Singles SL4 Quarterfinal, with the match scheduled to begin no earlier than 12:50 IST. Later in the evening, Nitesh Kumar will take on Daisuke Fujihara (JPN) in the Men’s Singles SL3 Semifinal at 20:10 IST, while Suhas Yathiraj will face off against Sukant Kadam in the Men’s Singles SL4 Semifinal. The Women’s Singles SL3 Semifinal will also see Mandeep Kaur potentially facing Xiao Zuxian (CHN), with the match starting at 20:10 IST (subject to qualification). Palak Kohli will also compete in the Women’s Singles SL4 Semifinal, facing Leani Ratri Oktila (INA) at 20:10 IST (subject to qualification). In the Women’s Singles SU5 Semifinal, Thulasimathi Murugesan will face either Manisha Ramadass or Mamiko Toyoda (JPN), with the match starting at 20:10 IST.

Para Archery

will feature Rakesh Kumar in the Men’s Individual Compound Open, where he will compete in the 1/8 Elimination round against Ken Swagumilang (INA) at 19:17 IST. He could then potentially progress to the Quarterfinals at 21:16 IST, followed by the Semifinals at 22:24 IST. The Medal Rounds for this event are scheduled for 23:13 IST.

Para Shooting

will see Sidhartha Babu and Avani Lekhara competing in the R3 – Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1 Qualification round at 13:00 IST, potentially leading to a Final at 16:30 IST. Sriharsha Devaraddi Ramakrishna will also participate in the R5 – Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH2 Qualification round at 15:00 IST, with the Final potentially taking place at 18:30 IST.

Para Athletics

will see Rakshitha Raju competing in the Women’s 1500m – T11 Round 1 at 13:39 IST. Ravi Rongali will be competing in the Men’s Shot Put – F40 Final at 15:12 IST. The Men’s High Jump – T47 Final will see Nishad Kumar and Ram Pal vying for victory at 22:40 IST, with Preethi Pal taking part in the Women’s 200m – T35 Final at 23:27 IST.

Para Rowing

will feature Anita and Narayana Konganapalle in the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls Final B, with the event scheduled for 14:00 IST.

Para Table Tennis

will see Bhavinaben Patel competing in the Women’s Singles – WS4 Round of 16 against Martha Verdin (MEX) at 21:15 IST. Sonalben Patel will also be in action, competing in the Women’s Singles – WS3 Round of 16 against Andela Muzinic Vincetic (CRO) at 00:15 IST.
