This victory for Jolly and Gopichand follows other notable performances by Indian players in the tournament. Sikki Reddy and Ruthvika Shivani secured a comfortable win against Cheung Yan Yu and Chu Wing Chi of Hong Kong-China in the women’s doubles qualification quarterfinal, winning 21-15, 21-10.
In the men’s singles, Aryamann Tandon displayed his resilience, overcoming a tough match against fellow Indian Tharun Mannepalli in the qualification round of 16. After a close contest, Tandon triumphed with a score of 11-21, 21-15, 21-17. However, his tournament journey was cut short in the qualification quarterfinal where he was defeated by another Indian player, Alap Mishra, with a score of 10-21, 22-24.
