Amidst the growing public outrage, Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20I captain, has voiced his strong views on the matter on social media. He shared a post on Instagram with a message emphasizing the importance of education and accountability: “Educate your son and your brothers and your father and your husband and your friends.”
Suryakumar’s statement joins a growing list of cricketers who have spoken out against the tragedy. He follows in the footsteps of other prominent players like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Jemimah Rodrigues, who have all expressed their concern and condemnation of the horrific event.

The postgraduate trainee doctor was allegedly raped and murdered while on duty at the RG Kar MCH. In the early hours of August 15, as a demonstration against the gruesome incident took place, a mob vandalized parts of the hospital.
