Thirty-eight young women from Victorious Kidss Educares (VKE) in India made their mark at the Girls Gearing Up (GGU) Leadership Academy in Berlin, Germany. Representing their country, they embraced the spirit of leadership, empowerment, and global understanding that VKE instills in its students.
This year’s GGU theme was ‘Sustainable Peace,’ and the program provided a rich learning experience for participants. Through workshops, collaborative projects, mentorship, and empowerment sessions, the young women explored critical issues related to peacebuilding and social change.
VKE emphasized the transformative nature of the GGU program, stating that it goes beyond a traditional leadership academy. It aims to cultivate confident leaders and changemakers who are equipped to address the world’s challenges. The academy’s focus on ‘Sustainable Peace’ resonated deeply with the participating students.
One participant shared, “GGU was an eye-opening and transformative experience that profoundly impacted us. Collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds taught us invaluable lessons in leadership, public speaking, and conflict management. We gained valuable insights into sustainable peace, equality, leadership, and moderation, which have significantly shaped our goals for the future.”
Another student highlighted the empowering mentorship and support they received. “These experiences have not only prepared us to lead with purpose and vision but also inspired us to uplift others in our communities. The connections we made and the skills we developed will stay with us forever, driving us to make a positive impact in the world.”
As these young women return home, they are committed to applying their newly acquired knowledge to inspire their peers and contribute to a more inclusive, peaceful, and hopeful world. Their journey at the GGU Leadership Academy serves as a powerful testament to the potential of young women to be agents of change and advocates for a better future.
