India’s Diksha Dagar will be looking to make amends for her recent performances at the Olympic Games and the AIG Women’s Open as she tees off at the 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open. Diksha leads a formidable four-member Indian contingent, including Pranavi Urs, Tvesa Malik Sandhu, and Ridhima Dilawari, who will compete in the four-day event, boasting a prize purse of 400,000 Euros at The O’Meara Course.
The 22-year-old Diksha, a two-time Ladies European Tour champion, has enjoyed a decent season with three top-10 finishes, her best being a T-3 in Johannesburg. Although she has achieved several top-20 finishes, her performance remains modest compared to 2023, where she secured almost ten top-10 finishes, including a victory in the Czech Ladies and a third-place finish in the Hero Women’s Indian Open on home soil.
Pranavi, a rookie on the LET this year, has also impressed with three top-10 finishes, including a tied-third place at Helsingborg. Tvesa, making a comeback after a season away from the game, narrowly missed out on her maiden victory at the VP Swiss Bank Ladies Open, losing in a playoff. She also achieved a tied-10th finish at Helsingborg. The trio, alongside Ridhima, will be eager to make a strong start to the latter stages of 2024 and set the tone for the rest of the season.
The field includes Georgia Hall, who is brimming with excitement and ready to tee off at The O’Meara Course. The English star, who was selected for her fifth European Solheim Cup Team on Monday, will be making her Women’s Irish Open debut. Hall has had a busy summer, playing at the Paris Olympic Games and competing in back-to-back weeks in Scotland. However, she is looking forward to testing her skills in Ireland. The two-time LET winner has recently enjoyed two weeks of links golf, achieving a T-12 finish at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and a T-22 at the AIG Women’s Open. This strong field promises exciting competition for the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
