The Indian Navy has announced a recruitment drive for unmarried men to fill the position of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) Medical Assistant. The online application window opens on September 7th, 2024, and will remain open until September 17th, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website, joinindiannavy.gov.in.
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a strong academic foundation in science. They must have successfully completed the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects. A minimum aggregate score of 50% in these three subjects is required, along with a minimum of 40% in each individual subject.
Applicants must also meet specific age and physical requirements. The age limit for this recruitment drive is between 1 November 2003, and 30 April 2007. Candidates must be unmarried. Additionally, they should have a minimum height of 152.5 cm.
The selection process for the SSR Medical Assistant position takes place in two phases. The first phase involves a preliminary shortlisting of candidates based on their performance in the 12th-grade examinations in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The shortlisted candidates will then proceed to the second phase, which comprises a written examination and a Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
Successful candidates will receive a stipend of Rs 14,600 during their initial training period. Upon completion of the training program, they will be placed in Level-3 of the Defence Pay Matrix, earning a salary ranging between Rs 21,700 and Rs 69,100. They will also receive a monthly Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs 5,200 and Dearness Allowance (DA). The final merit list will be determined based on the marks secured in the written examination, considering only those candidates who have cleared the PFT, PST, and Medical examinations.
