Indian Railways to Operate Summer Special Trains for Increased Passenger Demand

Indian Railways has announced the operation of summer special trains from Anand Vihar and Kanpur to Patna to manage the expected increase in travel demand during the summer season. The majority of these trains will commence operations from April 26 and will cater to popular destinations via Patna, Bengal, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

Among the announced trains is the 04078/04077 AnandVihar T – Patna Jn. –AnandVihar T Reserved Special, which will operate from April 29 to June 26 on every Monday and Tuesday. This train will connect AnandVihar T with Patna Jn., with stops at key stations such as Chipyana, Kanpur Central, and Prayagraj.

Another summer special train, the 04096/04095 AnandVihar T – Ayodhya Cantt. – AnandVihar T, will operate from April 27 to June 29 on every Saturday, Monday, Sunday, and Tuesday, providing connectivity between AnandVihar T and Ayodhya Cantt.

Indian Railways has also announced the operation of the 04056/04055 Jammu Tawi – Udaipur – Jammu Tawi Special, which will run from April 26 to June 28 on every Thursday and Friday, catering to passengers traveling between Jammu Tawi and Udaipur.

In addition to these trains, the Railway Ministry has stated that it will be operating a record-breaking 9,111 trips during the summer season, a significant increase compared to the 6,369 trips offered in the summer of 2023. This represents a 43% increase in train trips, demonstrating Indian Railways’ commitment to meeting passenger demand and ensuring convenient travel options during the peak season.
