The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) is set to welcome a strong contingent of Indian women’s cricketers for the upcoming season.
While vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has already secured her spot with the Adelaide Strikers, captain Harmanpreet Kaur will be absent this season. This absence marks a change from previous seasons where Kaur was a prominent figure in the WBBL.
However, several other Indian players are poised to make their debuts in the league, adding an exciting new dimension to the competition. Dayalan Hemalatha will join the Perth Scorchers, while Yastika Bhatia will be playing for the Melbourne Stars alongside Deepti Sharma. Shikha Pandey will be representing the Brisbane Heat, where she’ll be joined by Jemimah Rodrigues.
The participation of these talented Indian players is sure to add a new level of intrigue and excitement to the WBBL, with fans eagerly awaiting their performances on the field.
