Indian Wrestler Aman Sehrawat Wins Bronze at Paris Olympics

Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat added another medal to India’s Olympic tally, securing a bronze in the men’s 57kg freestyle event at the Paris Olympics. Sehrawat’s victory came against Darian Toi Cruz from Puerto Rico, with the final score of the bout ending at 13-5 in his favor. This win brings India’s medal count to a total of six, consisting of five bronze medals and one silver.

The silver medal was secured by Neeraj Chopra on Thursday in the javelin throw event. Sehrawat’s triumph continues the tradition of Indian wrestlers excelling at the Olympic Games, a legacy that began with Sushil Kumar’s bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Sehrawat’s journey to the bronze medal match involved a semi-final defeat against the top-seeded Japanese wrestler Rei Higuchi on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his pride and congratulations to Aman Sehrawat for his achievement, emphasizing the wrestler’s dedication and perseverance. In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Modi celebrated the nation’s pride in Sehrawat’s remarkable feat, adding another feather to India’s cap at the Olympic Games.
