IndianOil, the national oil company of India, has taken a significant step in boosting motorsport within the country by launching its high-octane racing fuel, ‘STORM-X,’ at the Madras International Circuit (MIC). This specialized fuel, designed to deliver peak engine performance while conforming to FIA regulations, was unveiled on Saturday during the third round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship.
The launch of STORM-X signifies a strategic partnership between IndianOil and the Madras Motor Sport Club (MMSC), demonstrating their shared commitment to strengthening motorsport in India. The MMSC, responsible for managing the MIC, a 200-acre FIA Grade-2 certified facility that hosts major national championships for cars and motorcycles, will receive race fuels and lubricants from IndianOil. Additionally, IndianOil will provide branding for venues and vehicles during the Indian National Racing Championships (INRC).
Beyond its focus on performance, STORM-X incorporates sustainable fuel components, highlighting IndianOil’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of motorsport. This echoes IndianOil’s broader support for sustainable practices within the industry. This commitment is further evidenced by their role as title sponsors of MotoGP Bharat 2023 and their partnership with FIM for the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) from 2024 to 2026.
The launch event was a vibrant affair, featuring the unveiling of the STORM-X brand logo by V. Satish Kumar, Director (Marketing), IndianOil, alongside Alok Sharma, Director (R&D), IndianOil, and MMSC officials including President Ajit Thomas, Secretary Prabha Shankar, and Vice-President Vicky Chandhok. The event concluded with the recognition of the driver who achieved the fastest lap during the qualifying session, followed by a parade of the weekend’s racing contingent.
With the introduction of STORM-X and this strategic partnership, IndianOil and MMSC are setting the stage for a new era of advanced motorsport technology and exhilarating racing experiences in India.
