India’s Medal Tally at Paris Paralympics 2024 Rises to 21 with Sachin Khilari’s Silver

Sachin Khilari, representing India, secured a silver medal in the men’s shot put F46 final at the Paris Paralympics 2024 on Wednesday. His impressive throw of 16.32m further boosted India’s medal tally to 21, surpassing their previous record of 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics. India currently occupies the 19th position in the medal table, boasting a strong collection of three gold, eight silver, and 10 bronze medals.

However, the day brought mixed results for the Indian contingent. Indian para paddler Bhavinaben Patel, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympics, unfortunately fell short of advancing to the semifinals of the women’s singles class 4.

Para Cycling Road


* Men’s C2 Individual Time Trial: Arshad Shaik finished eleventh with a time of 25:20.11.
* Women’s C1-3 Individual Time Trial: Jyoti Gaderiya finished sixteenth with a time of 30:00.16.

Para Shooting


* P4 – Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 Qualification: Nihal Singh secured the nineteenth position with a score of 522, failing to qualify for the final. Rudransh Khandelwal placed twenty-second with a score of 517, also missing out on the final.

Para Athletics


* Men’s Shot Put – F46 Final: Sachin Sarjerao Khilari earned a silver medal with a throw of 16.32m. Mohd Yasser finished eighth with 14.21m, and Rohit Kumar placed ninth with 14.10m.
* Women’s Shot Put – F46 Final: Amisha Rawat finished fourteenth with a throw of 9.25m.

Powerlifting


* Men’s up to 49kg Final: Parmjeet Kumar placed eighth with a lift of 150kg.

Para Archery


* Men’s Individual Recurve Open 1/16 Elimination: Harvinder Singh defeated Tseng Lung-Hui (TPE) with a score of 7-3.
* Men’s Individual Recurve Open 1/8 Elimination: Harvinder Singh defeated Setiawan (INA) with a score of 6-2.
