India’s Prime Minister Modi on Southeast Asia Tour, Adani Enterprises NCD Issue, and More

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic tour of Southeast Asia continues with high-level engagements in Brunei and Singapore. On the second day of his visit to Brunei, Modi will hold talks with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties. Following this, the Prime Minister will head to Singapore for meetings with key leaders and business figures, aiming to boost economic cooperation.

Meanwhile, in the business world, Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) is set to launch its first public issuance of secured, rated, listed, and redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) today. The company aims to raise ₹ 800 crore through this maiden issue. Additionally, ECOS (India) Mobility & Hospitality Ltd is set to make its stock market debut today following its successful initial public offering (IPO). Shares of ECOS Mobility will be listed on both the BSE and the NSE.

In other news, Rahul Gandhi is set to launch his party’s campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections with rallies in Ramban and Anantnag districts. These rallies will mark the start of the Congress’s efforts for the first elections in the region since Article 370 was revoked in 2019. Gandhi will be joined by prominent leaders such as Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

The Tripura Legislative Assembly will commence its three-day monsoon session, with a focus on three key Bills, including one proposing amendments to provide retirement benefits to MLAs. The session will also include a special discussion on the devastating floods that have recently hit the region.

The Delhi court is expected to deliver its ruling on the bail plea of Lok Sabha MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, who has been imprisoned since 2019 in connection with a terror funding case. The decision follows an in-camera hearing.
