India’s T20 World Cup Victory Celebration Delayed by Hurricane Beryl

The Indian cricket team’s triumphant return home after their epic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup victory has been disrupted by Hurricane Beryl. The storm, which intensified to a dangerous Category 4, forced the closure of Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown, Barbados, where the team was scheduled to depart. All residents of Barbados were instructed to stay indoors due to the hurricane’s severity.

The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, had defeated South Africa in a thrilling final on Saturday, securing the coveted World Cup trophy. The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, is currently accompanying the team.

With the airport shut down, plans are underway to arrange a charter flight to bring the players back to India. The planned felicitation ceremony for the team will be postponed until clarity emerges regarding their travel schedule. The BCCI is working diligently to ensure the safe return of the players and a fitting celebration of their remarkable achievement.
