IndiGo Airlines took to the skies on Friday, September 28th, launching new direct flight services connecting Hyderabad with the holy city of Ayodhya and the industrial hub of Kanpur. This expansion of their route network comes just days after the airline announced its plans to launch flights from Hyderabad to Prayagraj and Agra, starting on Saturday.
The decision to introduce these new flight services was made after Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) officials announced on September 24th that IndiGo would be adding six direct flights from Hyderabad to various destinations, including Agartala, Kanpur, Agra, Jammu, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya.
Flights to Ayodhya are scheduled to operate four times a week – on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – departing from Hyderabad at 1:55 PM and arriving in Ayodhya at 4:05 PM. This new service marks the return of direct flights to Ayodhya after a three-month break, following the discontinuation of SpiceJet’s direct flights on June 1st.
For Kanpur, IndiGo will also offer four weekly flights, departing RGIA at 8:55 AM and reaching Kanpur by 11:00 AM. The airline will provide three weekly flights to Prayagraj, leaving Hyderabad at 8:55 AM and arriving at 10:50 AM. These new flight routes are expected to benefit both travelers and the tourism industry in Uttar Pradesh, offering convenient and direct travel options to these popular destinations.
