Dharam Singh Dhaliwal, an Indo-Canadian fugitive believed to be involved in the murder of 21-year-old Pawanpreet Kaur in December 2022, has been listed among Canada’s Most Wanted. The announcement was made on Tuesday as part of the Be On The Lookout (BOLO) program, which leverages social media, technology, and public engagement to assist in apprehending fugitives.
A native of Brampton in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Kaur was shot multiple times at the Petro-Canada gas station where she worked on December 3, 2022, and pronounced deceased at the scene. In April 2023, a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for Dhaliwal, who is now considered one of Canada’s top 25 most wanted individuals.
Peel Regional Police (PRP) Chief Nishan Duraiappah emphasized the devastation this incident has brought upon Kaur’s family and the community. He urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to Dhaliwal’s arrest, as her family deserves justice and closure.
The BOLO listing highlights Dhaliwal’s history of domestic offenses against Kaur and alleges that he staged his own suicide to avoid police detection. He is described as standing 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a tattoo on his left hand. Authorities caution that he should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who encounters him should refrain from approaching and immediately contact the police.
In connection with Dhaliwal’s disappearance, two of his family members, 25-year-old Pritpal Dhaliwal and 50-year-old Amarjit Dhaliwal, were apprehended in Moncton, New Brunswick, on April 18, 2023, and charged with Accessory to Murder After the Fact. The BOLO program stresses that individuals who assist Dhaliwal in evading capture may face similar charges.
Meanwhile, Satinderjeet Singh, also known as gangster Goldy Brar, who was included in the Most Wanted list last year in connection with the May 2022 murder of entertainer and politician Sidhu Moose Wala, is no longer featured on the current list but remains at large.
