The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Monday declared three more candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in Haryana. The party has fielded Sunil Tewatia, a member of the former royal family of Ballabhgarh, in Faridabad; retired superintendent of police Anoop Singh Dahiya in Sonipat; and Sandeep Lot in Sirsa.
With this announcement, the number of seats to be contested by the party rose to six. In 2009, Sandeep Lot’s father Ramfal Lot had contested from the Narwana assembly seat on a Congress ticket. Sandeep Lot’s grandfather Fakir Chand is a two-time MLA.
Prior to Monday’s announcement, the INLD had declared to field Abhay Chautala from Kurukshetra, Sunaina Chautala from Hisar, and Gurpreet Singh from Ambala (SC) constituency.
In total, Haryana has 10 Lok Sabha seats. At present, the BJP represents all 10 seats in Haryana. Voting for all 10 seats will be held on May 25.
Till now, the BJP has declared candidates on all 10 seats, while the JJP has declared candidates on five seats. The AAP has declared one candidate, in Haryana, as part of the INDIA bloc alliance. The Congress, the main Opposition party in Haryana, is yet to announce any of its candidates in the state.
