The 10th International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21st, is being observed around the world today. The day aims to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga, encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is participating in the International Yoga Day celebrations in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, despite the ongoing rainy weather. Simultaneously, events are taking place across the globe. In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, Yog Guru Ramdev led a yoga session alongside Patanjali MD Acharya Balkrishna, attracting a large crowd including children.
The Embassy of India in Nepal organized a large-scale yoga demonstration on the eve of International Yoga Day in Lumbini and Pokhara. This demonstration, in association with the Lumbini Trust, drew participation from over 900 individuals, including the Chief Minister of Lumbini and various provincial leaders.
In New York’s Times Square, numerous individuals from diverse nationalities came together to practice yoga. Binaya Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, stated that they expect around 8,000 to 10,000 participants throughout the day, emphasizing the theme of ‘Yoga for Self and Society’.
Further showcasing the global reach of the event, the 41 BN SSB, Frontier SSB Siliguri, Sector SSB Ranidangi, and other security forces in India joined forces with the Armed Police Force of Nepal to celebrate International Yoga Day on the Mechi Bridge, connecting India and Nepal.
In India’s capital city, Delhi, Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and BL Verma participated in yoga demonstrations to mark the occasion.
The International Yoga Day celebrations provide a platform to highlight the universal appeal and benefits of yoga, demonstrating its potential to promote individual and societal well-being.
